This page is going to have info about the upcoming changes in scouting. I will include links and info as info becomes available.
From what info is out there....it looks like these are the major changes....please note this is all in the works and is still 8 months away from their target date...things could change....
1. All dens will have new books to work out of starting Aug 2015.
2.Webelos scouts who join in the 5th grade will not have to complete the webelos badge in order to earn the AOL....there will be a separate program.
3.The academic and sports belt loops will disappear but the program has implemented new awards that coincide with the books...they are called adventure loops and still will go on the belts. They will no longer be earned separate.
4. Adoption of the Scout Oath and Law for use in the Cub Scout program, retiring the Cub Scout Promise
5. Revise the Core Values of Cub Scouts to align exactly with the 12 points of the Scout Law.
6. Retire the Law of the Pack, while maintaining the concept of “Akela” as leader.
7. Maintain the current Cub Scout motto, sign, salute, and handshake.
