No dens will meet tomorrow...including Webelos. Trunk or Treat is going to make parking impossible.....We will resume on Monday Nov 4th. See yall then....

Acadian Cancelled

***A reminder that the Acadian Ambulance demonstration is cancelled due to the Trunk or Treat next Monday.


The Tiger, Wolf, and Bear dens have decided to not hold a meeting on Monday. I will be at the church on Monday night to run the Webelos den.

Have a great time at Trunk or Treat....see yall back at the church on Monday, Nov. 4th!!

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!


We had a great time last night. It was a little crazy having 75+ people in the church due to the weather but we made it work! :) I hope everyone had a good time!! Hopefully next year we can utilize outside and have more games.

I want to especially thank everyone who helped moderate a game including some of our older siblings....Sidney, Kaitlyn, Trey, Mallory, and Autumn. Thank you to all the parents who brought baked goods to be 'raffled' off. Thank you to all those who donated candy for our games. THANK YOU ALL for helping make our fall festival a success.

Our next pack meeting will be Nov. 18th. We will be having our Cubannapolis 500....AKA Box Car Derby. I will be posting more info, rules, and some pictures in a few days. So keep a look out for that post!! :)

Coke Product Delivery

 

The coke products will be delivered on Thursday, October 24th. I do not have a set time....as soon as I do I will text everyone and let you know. Please make arrangements to pick up your products on Thursday. Products are being delivered to The Matthews residence because the church is unavailable.

Directions: From Loranger Supermarket take Hwy 443 (Morris Rd)  toward Hammond, turn left at caution light onto Hwy 442/Hwy 40. Go all the way to the stop sign, turn right on Hwy 445. Go approx. 1 to 1 1/2 miles....look for boat motor on left...its the house right before boat motor.

Cub Scout Holiday Camp

Cub Scout holiday camp will be held from Saturday Nov. 23rd till Tuesday Nov. 26th. This camp is for all cub scouts and adult parents. Money is due by Oct 24th, 2013 or a late fee will apply.  Scouts work on rank advancement and Webelos work on pins along with other fun activities. Special Awards

To earn the special awards listed below the boys will need to complete the requirements and participate in a pack conservation project or leave no trace projects. Please let me know if you are interested in your scout earning these awards.
 
 
 
World Conservation Award
Cub Scouts from 2nd-5th grade can earn this award.
 
Wolf:
 
1. Complete Wolf Achievement #7 - Your Living World
2. Complete all Arrow Points in 2 of the following 3 wolf electives:
  • #13 - Birds
  • #15 - Grow Something
  • #19 - Fishing
3. Participate in a den or pack conservation project in addition to the above

Bear:

1. Complete Bear Achievement #5 - Sharing Your World with Wildlife
2. Complete all requirements in 2 of the following 3 bear electives:
  • #2 - Weather
  • #12 - Nature Crafts
  • #15 - Water and Soil Conservation
3. Participate in a den or pack conservation project in addition to the above.

Webelos:

1. Earn the Forester Activity Badge
2. Earn the Naturalist Activity Badge
3. Earn the Outdoorsman Activity Badge
4. Participate in a den or pack conservation project

 
 

All Cub Scouts can earn this award!

  1. Discuss with your leader or parent/guardian the importance of the Leave No Trace front country guidelines.
  2. On three separate outings, practice the front country guidelines of Leave No Trace.
  3. Scouts must complete these requirements:
          Tigers must complete the activities for Achievement 5, Let's Go Outdoors;
          Wolves must complete Requirement 7, Your Living World;
          Bears must complete Requirement 12, Family Outdoor Adventures;
          Webelos earn the Outdoorsman activity badge.

      4. Participate in a Leave No Trace-related service project.
      5. Promise to practice the Leave No Trace front country guidelines by signing the Cub  Scout Leave No Trace Pledge.
      6. Draw a poster to illustrate the Leave No Trace front country guidelines and display it at a pack meeting

Pumpkin Contest

Pumpkins will be judged at our Fall Festival. Pumpkins should be brought on Monday the 21st. Remember... NO CARVING!!  Pumpkins can be decorated using any materials. Please remember that this is a scouting event...so no real knives, guns, or sharp objects that could be a safety concern. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Acadian Ambulance

Paramedics with Acadian Ambulance will be visiting us on Oct. 28th to demonstrate first aid. This is a requirement for our Webelos to earn their Readyman activity pin. BSA has a special pin program for all cub scouts called Emergency Preparedness BSA. Every scout can earn this pin by completing certain requirements. There are 3 requirements....the first will be completed at the first aid demonstration....then each scout must complete the requirements listed below in the handbook to earn the pin. The pin is worn on the official uniform for recognition.


Tigers

Achievement 3- Keeping Myself Healthy and Safe
Elective 27- Emergency

Wolves

Achievement 9- Be Safe at Home and on the Street
Elective 16- Family Alert

Bears

Achievement 11- Be Ready
Each scout is to make a small display or give a presentation for their den on what you have learned about preparing for emergencies.

Webelos

Earn the Readyman Activity Pin
Build a family emergency kit with an adult family member participating in the project

Fall Festival

 
Please join us for our annual
 
Fall Festival
 
on Oct 21st @ 6pm at the Loranger Methodist Church
 
 
Activities Include:
 
Games/Crafts
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Door Prizes
 
 
Scouts are to wear Class A uniform.
 
 I will do a uniform inspection on this night. Scouts with correct insignia on shirts, shirts clean and tucked inside pants with a belt, and correct neckerchief  and slide will earn a 'uniform inspection' patch.
  
Pumpkin Decorating Contest Rules:
 
 
Pumpkins CAN NOT be carved. You may use markers, glitters, paints, felt, ribbons, candy...etc to decorate your pumpkins. Your pumpkins can have props such as a hat, arms, ect...to accent the decorating. Any size pumpkins can be used. All pumpkins will be grouped according to den. There will be an open class for siblings to enter pumpkins. All open class pumpkins will be judged together. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place pumpkins in each den and the open class. All participants will receive a ribbon for participating.
